My name is Marie-Joëlle Fournier – mjö, I am a freelance illustrator and graphic designer based in Montréal. I earned a diploma in Illustration from Dawson College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design from Laval University. I wish to have a positive impact through my ideas by bringing joy, beauty and hope in my illustrations. My style focuses on strong uses of graphic elements combined with rich and vibrant color palettes as an attempt to capture the imaginary and the consciousness. I combine traditional and digital techniques to create poetic and unexpected images aiming to spark a reaction towards today’s issues and make people smile. I like to play with symbols and concepts, whimsical elements and detailed patterns to create unique atmospheres. My influence and interest lie in street art, fine art, graphic novel, editorial illustration, portrait and children’s book illustration.
I hope my work can touch and inspire you
