I am Marie-Joëlle Fournier, an illustrator et graphic designer living in Montréal, Canada.
I conceive illustrations for different organizations and business in the education, publishing and advertising sectors. I enjoy participating in various projects ranging from promotional posters to educational books and corporate web illustration.
Holder of a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Laval University and an illustration diploma from Dawson College, I have developed a distinctive and adaptable style that allows me to accommodate a wide variety of projects.
I seek to create meaningful illustrations that are both aesthetically pleasing and intelligent. I like to work with strong and evocative images that capture imagination. My goal is to bring out the best image to convey an idea, an emotion or to tell a story… I favor bright colors, graphic shapes and a mixture of rich textures to compose eye-catching visuals. Although the majority of my illustrations are done digitally, I also integrate handmade elements to bring a traditional and warm side. The aesthetics of my work can appeal to adults and children alike.
When I’m not busy at my drawing board, I enjoy walking the streets looking for dusty treasures or imagining funny shapes in the clouds. You might also find me on two wheels somewhere, chasing distant and spectacular landscapes.
